Whether he straps on a guitar or a bass or elects to set his instrument aside and simply sing, Jerry Lee Gingery (aka “JLee the Juju Master”) is the driving force behind The Juju Kings and you had best be ready to move to the groove. JLee brings his own unique style of charismatic energy to his performance and infects those around him with an uplifted energy and spirit. Which leaves one to ask the question------- “ Why do they call it the blues if it makes me feel so good?”

Jerry Lee conceptualized The Juju Kings a few years ago as a member of the Greg Glick Band along with guitarist Greg Glick and Judd Short on drums. Before this blues power trio went in separate directions in 2003, Jerry Lee and former band mate/ producer/ lifelong friend, Kevin Chalfant, ( 707, The Storm, Two Fires) managed to gather an impressive compilation of original hard driving blues songs with a radio friendly edge. The results of that effort produced the Mojo Palace CD , which can be purchased through this web site or at Clique Records.com. Mojo Palace features the talents of many world-class musicians that Kevin invited to share in the fun of the project. Such as drummer Shawn Fichter (Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood), guitarist Josh Ramos ( The Storm, Two Fires), and keyboardist Jeff Jacobs ( Billy Joel, Foreigner) to name a few. Also in the mix, was renowned recording engineer George Tutko ( The Cars, John Mellencamp, Rod Stewart, Keith Richards).

The Mojo Palace cd also prompted a quote from freelance midwestern journalist, Andy Argyrakis ( Chicago Tribune, Illinois Entertainer, etc), which best sums up the Juju vibe.    “ The Juju Kings take listeners to the past and the future by way of here and now, weaving a magical spell of optimism in a world of pessimism with blues rooted ingenuity each step of the way. The Juju Kings----------Rooted in the past, destined to thrive in the future”

Jerry Lee is constantly writing new material, looking forward to new projects, and touring with the current line up of Juju Kings. Jlee will also be adding a Diary to this web site to keep fans up to date on any new adventures of The Juju Kings. So---- welcome to JujuKings.com. Enjoy yourself and drop us a line in the Guestbook from time to time.
